About
the Chef
Chef Stephen Munday is an alumnus of the Culinary Institute of America. Where in 1980 he graduated first in his class with honors. Originally from Deer Park, New York he and his family have called Williamsburg their home since 1987. Married for 26 years to his wife Gail, a RN at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, they have a daughter, Stephanie.
The foundation of his experience was
gained in restaurants in New York City
and the affluent Westchester County just
north of the city. Promoted through the
ranks at Innisbrook Resort in Tarpon
Springs, FL and Kiawah Island near Charleston,
SC diversified his experience and contributed
to developing his creative style. Ford's
Colony Country Club brought Chef Stephen
to Williamsburg, VA as part of the management
team whose goal was to offer the highest
quality of dining with a sense towards
trend setting. His love for catering
and the creative variety it offered lead
him to join a fledgling Catered Occasions
as their Vice President and Chef for
nearly 10 years.
In the autumn of 2000 while searching for ways to expand on his career as a full-service catering Chef, Chef Stephen researched an up and coming service... Personal Chef. With the American lifestyle as it is with no time to cook, grabbing a meal on the run or eating those prepared meals filled with preservatives and other ingredients too difficult to pronounce, what great timing this would be to help people with a better solution for dinner. His interest in multi-national foods led to the name of his new business, Creative Cuisines. Support in developing Creative Cuisines has come from the American Personal Chef Association, of which he is an active member.
When he's not in the kitchen, you will
find Chef Steve working in his yard gardening
and landscaping or in the garage making
something out of wood. Other interests
include coin collecting (a hobby dating
back to boyhood), art collecting, landscape
photography and salt-water aquariums.
A true nature lover, he holds memberships
in organizations such as The Nature Conservancy,
World Wildlife Fund, The National Parks
Conservation Association, National Resources
Defense Council, American Museum of Natural
History and National Wildlife Federation.
